The Capers Story
Capers Catering was established in 1997. Sally Birrell, Founder and Managing Director, is passionate about creating inspiring menus looking to excite the palate and exceed your expectations.
Within a short period of time, the business gained a reputation for menus using quality locally grown seasonal ingredients and providing a personal catering service. Much of the growth of the business is due to personal recommendation and repeat custom. Capers provide a diverse 24/7 catering operation.
Dishes are created in our own kitchen by a team of professional chefs, under the inspirational guidance of Paulo Crastequini. Whether it is stylish canapés, mini-meals, vintage high tea or a browsing table we will advise, guide and inspire you.
We make every effort to reduce our carbon footprint sourcing local and seasonal ingredients wherever possible. Our fleet of vans provide a temperature controlled environment in the delivery of food to clients.
The personal service, led by Sally and supported by her team, ensures clients are looked after in all aspects of their catering requirements.
And the story continues… In 2009 Sally travelled to Mozambique to support the work of Nema, a charity providing life saving support and as a result Capers support the work by providing funds to assist in the implementation of the feeding programme. Capers Catering recognises the importance of providing safe and wholesome food for all its customers without risk to their health and wellbeing. We are proud that we have consistently been assessed and awarded the top rating for food hygiene by the Food Standards Agency. To receive this award, the Food Hygiene Inspector covers areas such as Compliance with food hygiene and safety procedures, compliance with structural requirements and confidence in management and control procedures. This gives you the confidence and reassurance you would expect when selecting Capers as your preferred caterer.
All staff hold current Level 2 Hygiene Certificates and a rolling programme of assessment is in place.
